Konstantinos Tsagakis is a Senior Cardiac Surgeon and Section Head of Aortic Surgery in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the University Hospital of Cologne.
He graduated in medicine from the University of Vienna, Austria, and completed his specialization in cardiac surgery at the Heart Center North Rhein Westphalia in Bad Oeynhausen and the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the University Hospital of Essen, Germany. He continued his career as staff surgeon and head of aortic surgery at the University Hospital of Essen before assuming his current position in Cologne in September 2024.
Dr. Tsagakis has been actively involved with the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), where he served as a member and Chair of the Vascular Domain. His clinical and research interests focus on complex aortic surgery and cardiovascular care.
