Giovanni Pratesi is a Professor of Vascular Surgery at the Department of Integrated Surgical and Diagnostic Sciences (DISC) at the University of Genoa. He is also Head of the Clinic of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and of the Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular Department at IRCCS Ospedale Policlinico San Martino, serving the Liguria Region.
Dr. Pratesi has authored over 250 scientific publications, including 176 in indexed journals, with an H-index of 33 and more than 3,100 citations (Scopus, October 2025). He has participated in numerous multicentric international trials and frequently presents at prominent national and international congresses.
His clinical expertise focuses on advanced endovascular treatments, including fenestrated and branched procedures for complex aortic disease, encompassing the aortic arch and thoracoabdominal aorta. He has performed over 5,000 open and endovascular operations, serving as the first operator in more than 3,200 cases.
