Hitoshi Matsuda is the Director of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery (Vascular Surgery) at the National Cerebral & Cardiovascular Center in Japan.
He graduated from Kobe University School of Medicine in March 1986 and began his residency in Surgery at Kobe University Hospital. He trained further as a Research Fellow in Cardiothoracic Surgery at New England Deaconess Hospital, Harvard Medical School, USA, and completed a Clinical Fellowship in Surgery at Kobe University Hospital.
Dr. Matsuda served as a Staff Surgeon in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the National Cardiovascular Center before assuming his current role as Director in 2016. His clinical and research interests focus on cardiovascular and vascular surgery, with extensive experience in complex aortic and vascular procedures.
