Bio:
Tomas Holubec graduated in medicine in 2004 from Charles University (Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic). He became a board-certified cardiac surgeon in 2012 and completed his PhD at the same institution in 2014. He trained at internationally recognized centres, including University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland and Kerckhoff Klinik, Germany. From 2018 to 2025, he served as Deputy Director of Cardiovascular Surgery at University Hospital Frankfurt and Associate Professor at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany, where he was appointed Professor of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery in 2024. Since 2026, he has been Head of Cardiac Surgery at Klinikum Nürnberg and Professor at Paracelsus Medical University, Nuremberg, Germany. His clinical and research work focuses on minimally invasive and totally endoscopic cardiac surgery, valve-sparing procedures, and complex aortic and coronary surgery. He is regarded as a leading expert in minimally invasive cardiac surgery.
