Julia Dumfarth is a Professor for Hereditary Aortopathies at the Department of Cardiac and Thoracic Aortic Surgery at the Medical University Vienna. She graduated from the Medical University Vienna in 2008 and began her residency in cardiac surgery there, later continuing at the Medical University Innsbruck.
Dr. Dumfarth obtained her PhD in cardiovascular medicine and spent a research year at the Yale New Haven Aortic Institute. From 2010 to 2025, she worked as an academic surgeon at the Medical University Innsbruck before returning to Vienna to assume her current professorship.
Her clinical and research interests focus on hereditary aortopathies and complex thoracic aortic surgery.
