Elena is a Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist and Clinical Lead for the Centre of Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH). Elena has a particular interest in cardiac muscle disease and inherited aortic diseases and has contributed establishing GOSH as the largest Paediatric ICC Centre in Europe. She has established an expert dedicated MDT aortopathy clinic, providing management and support to children referred from across the UK.

Elena studied medicine at Bologna University where she also completed her Adult cardiology training focusing on cardiomyopathy and electrophysiology. She trained as a paediatric cardiologist and completed her PhD on exercise in paediatric cardiology at GOSH and in Bologna before moving to GOSH in 2013. She is an active member of international clinical and research collaborations focusing on aortic diseases including VASCERN (European Reference Network), MAC (Montalcino Aortic Consortium) and GenTac.
