Santi Trimarchi is a Full Professor of Vascular Surgery at Università degli Studi di Milano and Head of the Vascular Surgery Unit at Fondazione IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico in Milan.

Over his 30-year career, Dr. Trimarchi has focused on the study and treatment of aortic diseases, including aneurysms and dissections, using both open and minimally invasive endovascular techniques. He has also contributed to the management of carotid stenosis, lower limb arteriopathies, and superficial and deep venous pathologies. To date, he has performed more than 4,000 operations and authored or co-authored over 370 scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Trimarchi has served as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator in multiple international studies and registries. He is actively involved in guideline development, serving on committees for the European Society of Vascular Surgery (ESVS) for thoracic and abdominal aortic diseases, the Italian Society of Vascular Surgery (SICVE), and, since 2024, the writing committee of the EACTS/STS Guidelines for diagnosing and treating acute and chronic syndromes of the aortic organ.
