La Pitié Hospital, Paris – France
Emmanuel Lansac is a Professor in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at La Pitié Hospital in Paris, specializing in valve surgery. He completed his surgical training in Paris and trained in mitral valve repair under Professors Alain Carpentier and Christophe Acar. In 2000, he earned his PhD in dynamic anatomy of the aortic valve complex at The International Heart Institute of Montana Foundation, USA, under Professor Carlos Duran.
Dr. Lansac developed a standardized and physiological approach to aortic valve repair for aortic root aneurysms and isolated aortic insufficiency, including the use of the expansible Extra Aortic Ring (Coroneo Inc). He serves as Chairman of the Aortic Valve Repair Group of the Heart Valve Society (HVS), where he established an international consortium of physicians and scientists managing dystrophic aortic insufficiency and root aneurysms, leading to the creation of the international AVIATOR registry. He also coordinates the HVS Valve Research Network, co-chairing a multi-society taskforce that developed the first Heart Valve Disease ICHOM standard for global evaluation, aimed at moving from device outcomes to long-term patient outcomes.
In addition, Dr. Lansac organizes an annual level 3 aortic valve repair course through the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), including live surgical sessions.
