John S. Coselli is the Executive Vice-Chair of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery and holds the Cullen Foundation Endowed Chair. He is Professor in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and serves as Associate Chief of the Cardiovascular Service at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in the Houston Medical Center.

He previously served as Program Director of the Thoracic Surgery Residency at THI/BCM for two decades and currently directs the Aortic Fellowship Program at BCM.

Dr. Coselli specializes in complex aortic disease, including connective tissue disorders and emergent repairs. He has performed over 10,500 aortic procedures, including more than 3,800 thoracoabdominal repairs, and has authored over 600 manuscripts and 120 book chapters. His work has been presented in 39 countries, and he has performed operative aortic procedures in 13 countries. He is a past President of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) and is globally recognized for his contributions to complex aortic surgery.
