Appointed to Guys and St Thomas’ hospital, London in 1997 as a Paediatric and Adult Cardiothoracic Surgeon. Since 2011 I have developed a keen interest in Personalised External Aortic Root Support, PEARS, I have utilising this external support for a wide range of congenital aortopathies and ACHD post surgical root dilatations. This work lead to the development of the Ross PEARS operation a complete support of the autograft and ascending aorta enabling expanded application of the Ross operation to all aortic valve pathologies and root morphologies.
